straight talk:
The TCD-D10 is a NON-timecode DAT recorder so it will not "jam-sync" to other timecode devices like cameras, TC generators, or TC slates.  It DOES record an absolute "time of day" to tape.  This timecode may be logged by the sound recordist as with any recording system.

The TCD-D10 record head is a battery hog.  When on battery supply, avoid leaving the recorder in pause mode with the heads spinning.  Rather, hit STOP between takes to conserve battery.  A single battery should last around an hour with such use.
